THE FALL
An experimental theatrical experience, in development. A collaboration between Alina Rios and Olya Mengazetdinova.
The story
A retelling of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass driven by the original trauma of two women who keep falling in and out of love in a loop. They must fall to the very bottom and face their monsters (as well as the Rabbit, the Queen, Time, and the Cheshire Cat) to find themselves and be free.
Why are we telling this now
The idea for this show comes out of Alina and Olya’s personal experience. Together, yet apart, they are going through crushing heartbreak while haunted by missing fathers and unreliable partners.
How will we tell it
A hybrid of theatre and movement, fuelled by the use of video projection and aural effects, The Fall is a visceral ride through the underbelly of love. Light, dark, and quite often funny and absurd, it strives to create a sensory overload in the viewer in hopes of tilting their reality.
